Multi Unit Residential Toilet Rebate Program

We are seeking the participation of multi unit residential building owners and managers who are interested in replacing their old water guzzling toilets with new low flow 6 litre toilets.

Why participate?

Toilets are responsible for nearly one-third of the water consumed in your building, costing you the most money to operate than any other fixture. The good news is you can stop flushing your money away by switching to low flush toilets and be eligible for a $50 rebate from The City of Calgary.

Initial results show that buildings can save on average 30% on their water utility bill and save over $115 dollars per toilet replaced per year.

Some Program Details:

  • A $50 dollar rebate will be credited to the building’s water utility bill when 13L or greater toilets are replaced with eligible low flow toilets.
  • There is no limit to the number of toilets that a building can replace.
  • To be eligible, buildings must have an Enmax Rate code of W02A to W02K. Building owners and managers will be responsible for the purchase, disposal and installation of the toilets and must provide proof of doing so.
  • Information and application forms are available online or can be mailed to interested participants.

How do you apply for the Multi-family Toilet Replacement Program?

Simply read the building eligibility criteria to ensure you qualify, and then fill out and send in an application form for pre-approval. Please note that rebates will be awarded to pre-approved applicants on a first come first served basis. See the attached eligible toilet list or go to our website at www.calgary.ca/waterservices for the most up to date version. In order to prove that old toilets were properly disposed, waste disposal receipts are required. Successful applicants will be notified in writing.

Reducing daily water demand in Calgary will allow The City to support growth, extend the life of our treatment facilities and protect the quality of water in our rivers.
