Trade Show Edition Suite Success 2002
“SAVING MONEY….SAVING TIME….DOING IT RIGHT!”

It’s the event you have all been waiting for! The 2002 edition of the Calgary Apartment Association’s Trade Show is just around the corner. This year’s Show is being held on Thursday, October 24, 2002 in the Lower Level, Big Four Building, Stampede Park. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and the Show runs until 4:30 p.m.

The event is FREE.

The Trade Show is the highlight of the year for the Association and our members. Each year a great deal of time and effort goes into the planning and preparation of this major industry event. We have made some changes to the show floor this year that will enhance the booth displays and make it easier than ever to check out all the exhibitors.

This spectacular one-day event enables exhibitors to showcase their product and service to the owners and managers of residential rental property in Calgary, and the surrounding area. For the owners and managers it provides an excellent opportunity to browse, see what services and products are available in the marketplace and speak with industry professionals, all in one convenient location.

Please check in at the registration desk when you arrive so that you can pick up your passport, with exhibitor list, booth locations and map of the Trade Show floor. As an added benefit, many of the exhibitors will be conducting in-booth demonstrations throughout the day and this information will be listed in your passport.

Join us for some exiting and very informative seminars during the day. There is no cost to attend, and seating is on a first come-first served basis, so arrive early to ensure you get a good seat. The seminar area will be located at the south end of the Trade Show floor.

This year we are featuring two morning seminars:

  • The first runs from 9:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. and is entitled “Why Do Renovations - The Benefits of Renovating” and it will be presented by Lizaine Wheeler from Boardwalk Equities.
  • The second seminar goes from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and is entitled “Reducing Your Operating Costs - Learn How to Reduce Your Expenses and Save Money” and it will be presented by Anand Mishra, Senior Research Analyst at CMHC.

The Luncheon begins at 12:00 noon, with the doors opening at 11:30 a.m. The cost to attend is $25.00 and must be pre-paid. This year’s keynote speaker is Mr. Richard Corriveau, Senior Market Analyst at CMHC, who will discuss “Supply and Demand, and the Changing Demographics In the Calgary Marketplace”

The afternoon seminar runs from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and addresses “THE TENANCY…DEALING WITH ISSUES”, which is the 2nd in a 3-part Residential Tenancy Act series. This seminar will touch on: entering the premises, notice of landlord, rent arrears & remedies, damage & noise, rent increases, dispute resolution and much more! The presenters are Barb Foster and Kevin Wishlow from Landlord 9-1-1.

Home Renters Guide is sponsoring this year’s Grand Prize and the draw will take place at 4:00 p.m. in their booth. So make sure you have each exhibitor stamp your passport and drop it off at the Registration Desk in time for the draw.

The show is designed to meet the needs of the owners and managers of residential rental property, and whether you’re brand new to the business, or a seasoned professional, or just thinking about residential real estate as an investment, you won’t want to miss this exciting day!

This Trade Show is a must for any company that wants to include the owners and managers of Calgary’s residential rental industry among their clients. If this is a market for your company, then this is where you need to be. Your customers come to you.
